This event was attended by record numbers of NUAAC members yet again on the 13th May 2006. Every year all members get a chance to go on this trip and run against the best from around the North of Scotland. For most it is the first track event of the season and everyone is keen to show how much they have improved over the long winter months. As always the team is booked in at Inverness youth hostel for both Friday and Saturday nights then travelling back on the Sunday ferry to Uist. Most athletes choose two events in which to compete in and hopefully come back with a medal. There is always healthy competition from the other North District clubs but North Uist always wins the most competitors prize! There were great preformances on the track, many medals won, and perhaps most importantly lots of brand new personal bests! The sun was bright, but it was unusally cold on the day, but this did not deter the athletes from giving their all. A massive thanks is owed to all the adults that came on this trip, it can not be easy looking after 70 kids for the weekend! All the helpers that made this possible are also thanked, and all the kids are looking foward to next year! |
